Welcome to SwimForge. We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring that your personal data is handled securely and in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information. Given that our platform is used by minors, we apply strict data minimization and access controls.

2. Data We Collect

  • Account Information: Your email address when you sign up using a Magic Link.
  • Athlete Profiles: Names, birth years, and gender of athletes you manage or represent.
  • Performance Data: Race times, splits, competition names, and the resulting tactical identity analyses.
  • Coach Links: Information regarding invitations and connections between athletes and coaches.

3. Purpose of Processing

We collect this data solely to provide the SwimForge analytics service:

  • To calculate physiological and tactical performance profiles.
  • To allow coaches to monitor group trends and provide targeted advice to their connected athletes.
  • To secure your account and manage coach-athlete authorization links.

4. Storage and Security

All data is stored securely in the European Union (EU) via our database provider, Supabase. Access to athlete data is strictly controlled via Row-Level Security (RLS). Absolutely no one can view an athlete's data unless they are the owner of the profile or an explicitly invited and accepted coach.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. Your data is never shared with third parties for marketing purposes.
Data is only shared internally within the app when an athlete or parent explicitly accepts an invitation from a coach.

6. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you choose to delete your account or an athlete's profile, all associated data (races, coach links, analyses) is permanently and immediately deleted from our database.

7. Your User Rights (GDPR)

Under the GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Rectification: Correct any inaccurate or incomplete data via your athlete profile.
  • Erasure (Right to be Forgotten): Request the permanent deletion of your account and all associated data.
  • Revoke Access: Disconnect any connected coach from your profile at any time.
